The land on which the new campus stands was acquired in 2004 after the previous occupant of the site, Warner Brothers, closed their multiplex cinema.
Construction work commenced in October 2005 and was completed in July 2007.
Around 9,000 staff and students from Business, Design and Law moved in for the start of the new academic year in September 2007.
